Hey Reader
The image above is from my Back-Up website which is doing just as good as my main site even though the content is NOT researched in full nor written like most websites using conventional methods.
So, what's different?
My main website targets worldwide content and this one is local travel. You need to know this as it's an important part of the method; I'll try to explain in this email.
This might be a little hard to explain, but here goes.
The website is researched using nothing more than social media.
No, tools, No AI keywords, no Google ads keywords.
Nothing.
How we look at this website is like a hobby/passion website that focuses on stories.
All the articles are written more like a story or news post rather than 10 Best Places to Travel etc etc.
We look at social media and especially Instagram and find trending images / topics and write what I would call a story post.
"Think of it as if you are telling someone face-to-face about a topic you have heard about or seen on social media".
Then we write it like that, not SEO focused, nor are we really worried about keywords.
Using this method, we can also use social media images and embed them into our content. The creators love it as they get a link, and it powers up their viral content.
And we look like some of the first people to create written content based on their post.
I wish I could just show you an example, but I don't want to give my niche away and also, I haven't fully tested the process to see if I can recommend it.
I never recommend anything until I know it really works.
We haven't done any link building on this site like we have on the main travel site using LINKIFI and their amazing HARO service.
Which I highly recommend - Not to make a commission, although that's nice; but because it's moved the needle on Domain Authority with just 8 super-powerful links
If you do want to try them, use LINKIFI1O at the checkout to get 10% off your first order.
I also recommend their Haro Masterclass which I believe they have a FREEBIE guide which I have linked to here.
We also use YouTube in the same way. To look for topics trending now in that area and write about those, regardless of traffic numbers.
The main site targets money posts that are very competitive like Best Hotels in New York (Example).
Of course, these will need links.
There's no way in hell I could rank for most of the articles on the main site without a strong DA.
You can see the results are coming in from this story-post method we are testing on the backup site.
We will obviously get lots of Number 1 rankings as the posts have no competition.
But the best thing is, as soon as those trending posts go viral, people switch from social media to Search to read more. They find us at the top!
Again, sorry if this does not make sense. I might have to put it into a video if you guys reading this email reply saying...
"What the hell are you talking about?" 😂
I also admit that I do like the more localized or narrowed down travel niches. Maybe my main site is too broad?
A concern I have for sure.
I know some people who are doing well just focusing on these areas inside travel:
They know what they are and stick to that topic. All of which have amazing 20-40% commission rates and huge search volumes.
The main site will have its next income report out soon which will look like a TOTAL TRAIN WRECK as I took display ads off to see if anything would improve like traffic, UX, Sales, on page time, and rankings.
I'll explain what really happened in that video which will be out in a week's time.
On that site we are simply focusing on Backlinks.
I want that site to have a DA of 40+ by the end of the year.
We are also testing some product posts like Best x for y.
Not hotels or resorts, but actual products. Currently, we have none!
Then it's all about video content on that site.
Again, I'll explain more in the video.
The backup site...... Just keep adding posts using this social media method and maybe get it on Mediavine soon.
Ezoic is testing some new ads on the site to try to improve the earnings for display ads.
But I'm not holding my breath. We shall see!
I have also started Pinterest and Instagram accounts for the backup site.
The main site is doing really well from Pinterest with just 2 pins a day.
It really hasn't been any work at all to get 500-600 visitors a month onto the site.
I have also been using Pinterest to drive an audience to YouTube and that's working. I can easily see 1,000 visitors a month going from Pinterest to WordPress in a few weeks.
I know that's not a lot, but it's a good source of fresh visitors to the site and not reliant on Google.
I feel like I'm in control of how fast that traffic is growing. Which I love.
I have had a few comments about the speed and Core Web Vitals on the main site.
We use Popcorntheme (My own theme) and you can see with over 800 posts on the site and good hosting. It's looking pretty good.
There are currently no ads on the site at the moment, so that helps.
But I took a screenshot before the ads were taken off and it was still pretty good.
That's this image below:
We are simply writing what we feel people will want to read and making it more about the reader than ranking.
Giving people interesting stories and insight into those trending topics and making people return to the website more often.
We won't have much competition either because no one can use tools to search the keywords. Because most of them don't exist yet.
Not all sites can use this method. I have to say that!
But travel, fashion, entertainment, and video games are just a few that can.
It's been a good few months really on both of these sites.
Both have seen steady growth and seem to be performing. Nothing life-changing yet but I can see potential in both of them.
I'm really enjoying making travel videos as well.
That's why there hasn't been as much content on my YT channel. I've been pumping out travel videos and one even got 40k views in a week!
I have never seen that on Carl Broadbent YT channel.
Doing those videos and the launch of Popcorn's new pricing plan has kept me busy.
But I do have some content coming soon about Pinterest, the travel niche in general, and improving E.E.A.T
I hope this email made sense, it probably didn't.
But please feel free to email me back if you have any questions.
A big thank you to everyone who purchased Popcorntheme on the last few days of the Lifetime deal.
It was insane how many people grabbed it.
That's it for today.
I will see you all in the next videos.
Have a great weekend
Carl
